Manchester Child Support Attorney
How Is Child Support Calculated in New Hampshire?
Child support does not fall on a parent based on gender, but how much the parent earns. Most often, the parent who earns more is obligated to pay support, but there are exceptions to this. In New Hampshire, support is calculated through a specific formula.
This formula takes the following, and more, into consideration:
- Incomes of both parents
- Number of children
- Child care expenses

Even though he or she might be the priority, child support can still become a difficult and tense part of your divorce. Am I Obligated to Pay College Expenses?
Over the last several years, the issue of the payment of college expenses has seen many changes. Prior to a statutory change in February of 2004, the trial court had broad discretionary powers to order parental contribution toward college education expenses.
Now, parents are not obligated to support their children past the age of 18, or past their completion of high school, whichever comes last. In some cases, parents come to an agreement about college support which can be approved by the court.
